Healthy Eating Policy

Healthy Eating Policy

Casa Caterina promotes healthy eating. Lunches are provided in the school through the School Lunches Project Scheme. 10% of this is funded by the school. If your child wishes to bring his or her own lunch, we recommend that you give him/her a healthy lunch.

All sweets, chocolates, breakfast bars, biscuits, crisps, chocolate bars and fizzy drinks are banned in the school. Children may not bring bottles to the school. Lunches should be packed in a box so that children bring home what they have not eaten.

All classes also have the option to do cookery in the school once a week. Recipes alternate between sweet and savoury with the emphasis on encouragingthe following:

  • Healthy eating habits
  • developing good table manners
  • Pupils learning to socialise at meals
  • Pupils learning about and becoming aware of the ingredients in food.

Parents/carers should inform the school of any food allergies or intolerences.

EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY CHILD IS DIFFERENT, UNIQUE AND SPECIAL.
